Becky Sharp Designs
--I have been creating art for my entire life. From drawing, to painting, to architectural design, and photography, I have been interested in and explored many artistic mediums. More recently, I learned the craft of stained glass and bookbinding at Brigham Young University, where I earned my BA in Visual Arts in 2006. I immediately took to the hands-on nature of these two art forms and felt that I excelled at both, as far as my level of skill and craftsmanship. Ever since, I have been obsessed with exploring the design possibilities for stained glass and bookbinding, and working to master the skills of the trade.
--The idea to make stained glass jewelry actually came from a friend who makes beaded and wire jewelry. She was hoping to use a few glass pendants in her designs. Little did she know, I would become infatuated by glass jewelry and take the idea to a whole new level by starting my own business. I established Becky Sharp Designs in April 2007, with the intention to sell my stained glass jewelry and hand-crafted books. I began by selling at jewelry parties and a few local craft fairs. I did well, but discovered that many people wanted to see "my website," which didn't exist at the time. So, my next adventure included learning web design and creating what you see here. My hope is to eventually include other art forms in this venture as I become more established. I would love to include my photography, and a combination of stained glass and painting. As for now, I am so busy researching and coming up with new designs, I haven't had time to touch my paintbrushes or pick up my camera (except to take product photos.) :-) I do have a link to some of my artistic photos as free desktop image downloads. --My other obsession is my family. I have a husband who adores me, and two boys, 4 years and 1-1/2 years old who are both too cute for their own good. We live in Springville, Utah where I work entirely from my home. Having a business as a stay at home mom is a great opportunity and I'm loving every minute of it!
